A five-year-old boy was injured in a car accident in the Berestinsky district, and his father faces potential legal consequences.

According to the report from the National Police in the Kharkiv region, the accident occurred on February 22 at around 18:00.

The events unfolded at the entrance to the village of Slobozhanske in the Berestivskyi district.

“The driver of the Opel Vectra lost control, veered off the roadway into a ditch, and as a result, the vehicle overturned,” the police stated.

As a result, the driver's wife and son were injured.

“Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by persons managing vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the police noted.

The man now faces up to three years of restriction of freedom along with a similar period of driving ban.
