The city administration and utility companies reported destruction and damage in Kharkiv due to the "arrivals" of Russian bombs.

Updated at 12:03. Fallen trees have already been removed from the square at Freedom Square, debris and trash have been cleared away, and the cobblestones have been washed, reported the press service of the municipal enterprise "Kharkivzelenstroy."

“Teams from Kharkivzelenstroy, workers from the Central Park and Shevchenko Garden joined forces to restore the square to its usual appearance. A significant portion of the area has already been cleared: fallen trees have been removed, debris and trash have been taken away, and the cobblestones have been thoroughly washed. The damaged area, where the explosion created a crater, has been partially filled in to reduce its depth,” the utility workers informed.

Updated at 11:50. Employees of "Kharkivzelenstroy" are rescuing trees near the "Nauchnaya" metro station.

“After the overnight strike near the 'Nauchnaya' metro station in the Shevchenkivskyi district, the team of the enterprise immediately began addressing the emergency situation with the damaged trees. A crew is on site with an aerial lift, trimming and removing damaged parts. Unfortunately, the explosion caused significant damage to the trees: five of them were severely affected. Although the greenkeepers are trying to preserve the vegetation as much as possible, often it is not possible to revive some of them due to the severity of the damage from the shelling,” commented the press service of "Kharkivzelenstroy."

10:58. Workers from "Kharkivspetsstroy," "Kharkiv Repair and Construction Enterprise," and "Kharkivzhilstroy" have already begun to cover broken windows.

“As a result of enemy airstrikes that occurred overnight, at least 28 buildings were damaged in the Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, and Saltivskyi districts. A total of 544 windows were shattered in apartments, and 295 in common areas,” – reported the city administration.

Meanwhile, workers from "Kharkivzelenstroy" are cleaning up the trees damaged by the shelling.

“One of the enemy strikes hit the square at Freedom Square, near the dry fountain. A shell struck the lawn, leaving a large crater, and the explosion caused significant damage: about one and a half dozen trees were affected, as well as the irrigation system, benches, and partially the sidewalk cobblestones. Additionally, the explosion damaged a New Year installation featuring a Santa Claus figure, specifically the cladding of the pedestal on which the figure is installed, as well as part of the lighting,” – wrote the municipal enterprise.
