Following the Russian shelling in Kyiv, emergency power outages have been implemented in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region. This was reported by the energy company "DTEK".

"Upon the command of 'Ukrenergo', emergency outages are being applied in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region. We will promptly inform you of any changes," the energy providers stated.

The reasons for the power outages were not specified by "DTEK". "Ukrenergo" claims that the electricity is being turned off due to the aftermath of Russian attacks on energy facilities. Industrial consumers and businesses are prioritized for disconnection.

Restrictions for residential consumers are rare, and the situation in the energy system may change. Energy providers recommend using electricity sparingly.

According to the words of Alexander Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, Ukraine's energy system is currently operating at its limits to ensure that people have power. It is impossible to predict the possibility of avoiding restrictions.

"Everything depends on a vast number of parameters. Due to political reasons, Russian attacks have slightly decreased, but they may resume in the spring," he added.

Recall that on the night of February 17, Russian military attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. Explosions were reported in several regions of Ukraine.

Additionally, on the night of February 12, the Russian Armed Forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Among other things, the office of the FREEДОМ TV channel was also damaged.
