On the morning of Tuesday, February 25, Kyiv is experiencing a temporary decline in air quality. The capital has recorded an increase in the concentration of suspended particles. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
"The likely cause of the deterioration in air quality is the accumulation of suspended substances (dust). The low-wind weather under high atmospheric pressure does not contribute to the dispersion of pollutants," the statement said.
To minimize the impact of polluted air on health, it is recommended to close windows, limit outdoor activities, and drink more water. If there is an air purifier at home, it is advisable to turn it on to maximum power.
You can monitor the current air quality in real-time online or through the "Kyiv Digital" app.
The decline in air quality is being observed in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
The air quality is worst in the Podilskyi, Darnytskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.
According to IQAir, as of 09:10, Kyiv ranks 14th among the most polluted cities in the world based on air quality.
We remind you that on February 24, a deterioration in air quality was also recorded in Kyiv. The accumulation of suspended substances was cited as the likely cause of this decline.
