On the morning of February 1, an explosion was heard in Poltava. The regional military administration reported a "hit" on a multi-story building — there is a collapse.
Updated at 18:41. The number of fatalities from the Russian missile strike on the five-story building in Poltava has risen to eight, as reported by the State Emergency Service (SES). Among the victims is a child.
“Psychologists from the SES and the National Police assisted 177 individuals, including 10 children. Rescuers continue emergency and rescue operations,” — noted the SES.
Updated at 15:28. The death toll in Poltava has increased to seven, reported Ukraine's Interior Minister Igor Klymenko.
“22 people were rescued by SES personnel from the residential building destroyed by the Russian strike. 14 individuals were injured, including three children. Emergency and rescue operations are ongoing. SES dog handlers with trained search dogs are involved. Rescuers, police officers, and all concerned citizens are helping to clear the rubble and support the victims,” — wrote Klymenko.
Updated at 09:43. The SES of Ukraine reported three fatalities as a result of the Russian strike on the multi-story building in Poltava on the morning of February 1. Ten people were injured, including one child.
“Emergency responders saved 21 individuals. The entrance from the first to the fifth floor was destroyed, and a fire broke out. Neighboring houses and 12 vehicles were damaged,” — informed the press service of the agency.

08:33. “The enemy struck Poltava. There is a hit on a residential building. Rescuers and emergency services are currently on site. Information is being clarified,” — wrote the press service of the Poltava regional administration.
In the morning, an air raid alert was declared across all regions of Ukraine. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a missile threat. In the Kharkiv region, the alert had been in effect since the evening of January 31 due to a massive attack by "Shahed" drones. Explosions were heard twice in Kharkiv — around 05:40 and 07:40 in the morning. The second explosion turned out to be a "hit" in the Kholodnohirskiy district. A fire broke out in a private house, a woman around 60 years old died, and there are reports of four other injuries.
