During a national marathon broadcast, the spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv region, Yevgeny Vasilenko, reported that the boy trapped under the rubble is most likely already deceased.
“There is information that a 15-year-old boy is under the debris. Unfortunately, due to the extent of the destruction, he has already died. Therefore, rescuers are working to clear the rubble and debris of slabs and ceilings to reach the body of the deceased. We will continue our efforts until we have dismantled and cleared the entire perimeter of the destroyed section of the entrance,” Vasilenko stated.
During the debris clearance, the emergency service personnel managed to rescue three individuals, one of whom was a child who later succumbed to his injuries.
“A fire occurred, leading to severe destruction. The fire spread over an area of 80 square meters. Firefighters quickly extinguished it. Currently, emergency rescue operations are underway. The building from the 1st to the 5th floor has been destroyed. Slabs, ceilings, and partitions fell exactly at the level of the first floor, and the emergency service units are working directly on the first floor,” Vasilenko added.
As a reminder, late in the evening on October 30, a Russian missile struck a nine-story building in the Saltivka district. The debris clearance is ongoing this morning — a 15-year-old child is reported missing. By morning, municipal workers are already on-site addressing the aftermath of the attack.
