The mother is suspected in the deaths of four children in Pesochin, who tragically lost their lives in a fire.

Four children, aged between four and nine years, along with their 52-year-old grandfather, perished in a fire in Pesochin on November 14.

Another 16-year-old boy survived the blaze – he is the brother of the suspected mother of the deceased children. Preliminary reports from the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office indicate that the cause of the fire is linked to the operation of heaters.

Authorities emphasize that the mother left home several days before the tragedy. As a result, relatives were looking after the children for about five days.

“According to the investigation, the suspect, who is the mother of four boys, left the children with her 52-year-old father, who had been ill for a long time, and her 16-year-old brother on November 9. That day, the woman left for 'personal matters' but never returned. As a result of her gross failure to fulfill her parental duties in caring for her minor children, including leaving them unsupervised, as well as her negligence and indifference to their fate, severe consequences occurred in the form of the deaths of her sons, who were in the house,” the prosecutor's office stated.

Law enforcement added that the 29-year-old woman has already been charged with gross neglect of legally established duties for the care of children, which led to serious consequences (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Recall that on November 14, the regional emergency service reported that a private house was burning in Pesochin, with a total area of 150 square meters. Five people died in the fire – four children and a man, while one 16-year-old boy was rescued. Additionally, firefighters saved a cat from the flames.
