The traffic accident occurred in the Kyiv district of the city around 8:00 PM, reports the regional patrol police department in Kharkiv Oblast.
“Police arrived promptly at the scene and established that the driver of a Renault vehicle had collided with another car. During their conversation, the officers noticed signs of alcohol intoxication in the driver,” the police stated.
However, the man refused to take a breathalyzer test on-site and went to the hospital instead. There, doctors confirmed that the driver was indeed intoxicated.
“The patrol officers removed the man from driving and issued administrative protocols against him under Article 124 (Traffic rule violation resulting in an accident) and part 1 of Article 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The materials will be forwarded to the court,” the patrol added.
