On the night of January 6, Russian forces attacked seven regions of Ukraine with drones. The majority of the strikes targeted the northern and central parts of the country, reported the Ukrainian Air Forces in a preliminary summary.
Drone activity was observed in the western part of Kyiv region, in the northern areas of Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kirovohrad with constant course changes, in the southern part of Dnipropetrovsk, and east of Kryvyi Rih.
The air raid siren sounded in the capital at 1:43 AM, with reports of drone movement near populated areas noted. By morning, it became known that the enemy shelling had damaged the contact network of the railway in Kyiv region. Railway workers are trying to restore it, said "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Train delays were published on the "UZ" website.
Monitoring channels specified the number of UAVs: 2 in the northern part of Chernihiv region, 1 flew past Kaniv, and one was spotted in the Oleksandriia district of Kirovohrad region, as well as in Kryvorizhskyi and Synelnykove districts of Dnipropetrovsk region.
In Kharkiv region, 2 UAVs were flying in the Lozova district towards the west. Another drone was observed in Poltava region on the border of Samara and Poltava districts.
By around 5:40 AM, the threat of ballistic weapon use was added in the areas where air raid alerts were declared.
Recall that on January 1, as a result of a Russian drone attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian neurobiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife were killed. The scientist taught at the "Institute of Biology and Medicine" of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
