The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has dismissed Serhiy Popko from his position as the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. The corresponding decree No. 897/2024, dated December 31, was published on the president's official website.
To relieve General Colonel SERHIY MYKOLAYOVYCH POPKO from the position of head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Former ATO leader in Donbas and former commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Popko, has served as the head of KMVA since October 24, 2022.
In another decree No. 898/2024, Zelensky appointed Tymur Tkachenko as the new head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
In August 2023, Tkachenko was appointed Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries. In September 2024, he took the position of Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development.
He is also a current member of the Supervisory Board of "Ukrposhta" and previously held the position of Director of the Territorial Control Department of Kyiv.
