A star from a Netflix show has passed away at the age of 52.

The renowned jewelry designer and star of the Netflix show "Bling Empire: New York," Lynn Ban, passed away at the age of 53. This occurred just weeks after she was injured at a ski resort in Aspen and underwent emergency brain surgery. Her son, Sebastian, announced her death on the celebrity's Instagram page reported.

The young man wrote that Lynn passed away on January 20.

"I know she wanted to share her journey after the accident and brain surgery. So, I thought she would appreciate one last post with news for the people who supported her. Many of you followed my mom but never got to know or meet her in person," he explained.

In his post, Sebastian decided to share more about Lynn, who was originally from Singapore.

"She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and a person who cared for everyone. There was always a smile on her face, even during the difficult times of her recovery. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know. She was the funniest and coolest mom I could ever dream of. She cared for me, my father, and our entire family throughout her life. Although she is no longer with us, I will do everything possible to ensure she is never forgotten, and that her life is celebrated as it deserves," wrote the heartbroken Sebastian.

In summarizing his post, he added:

"As a final message to my mom, I just want to say that I will miss you forever, and I want to end with what she always said to me: 'I love you more than life,' Mom."

He complemented the post with a series of photos with his mother taken throughout the years, also including a picture of Lynn with Sebastian's father, Jett Kane.

Among those who responded to the post were many stars.

"2025 is hitting me at this moment! This is too much! Lynn, you will always be our fairy godmother! Love you forever and always! I can't believe I'm writing this in the comments section. Thank you for all the joy you brought us!" – wrote singer Rihanna.

Lynn's co-star from the show, Dorothy Wang, addressed the late star's son in the comments:

"Sebastian, we never met, but the way your mom lit up every time she spoke about you – I will never forget. I won't forget so many wonderful things about your mother. She was a true cool person, but at the same time, a kind ray of light. Yes, she loved her fashion and her looks, but what mattered most to her were you and your father, her tribe. We are all heartbroken."

What happened to Lynn Ban?

Weeks ago, Lynn shared that she had to undergo emergency brain surgery on Christmas Eve after being injured at a ski resort in Aspen, Colorado. On December 30, 2024, she posted on Instagram a detailed account of the incident, adding that she felt "grateful and blessed" to be able to celebrate the New Year after her life-threatening ordeal.

As Ban wrote, she was on vacation.

"In an instant… life can change. On Christmas Eve, on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen, during a vacation with family, I had a skiing accident that changed my life. At the top of the mountain, I caught an edge and hit my face. Luckily, I always wear a helmet. At that moment, everything seemed okay, and I was able to ski down," she recounted.

Lynn wanted the ski patrol to check her for a concussion. After an examination, they told her she was fine.

However, the star felt something was off; she had a slight headache. Nevertheless, she planned to rest and hit the slopes again.

"The ambulance advised me to go to the hospital for a CT scan. It saved my life. I took a taxi with Jett, and after 30 minutes, we were told that I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to a trauma hospital. The last thing I remember is being intubated, and I woke up after an emergency craniotomy with Jett by my side," she continued.

Ban expressed gratitude to the doctors for saving her and shared a photo of her partially shaved head after the craniotomy.

The debut season of "Bling Empire" premiered in January 2021, followed by the second season in May 2022, which focused around Los Angeles. The third season, where Lynn starred, set in New York, debuted in October 2022.

Inspired by the success of the 2018 film "Crazy Rich Asians," the unscripted documentary series followed wealthy socialites as they entertained and managed large businesses.

Lynn was the owner of Lynn Ban Jewelry, with her creations worn by stars such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and many other A-list celebrities. She had over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. She lived and worked in New York, London, and Paris. Her work was featured in Vogue and its international editions, as well as in ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, W Magazine, and V Magazine.
