Russian model and TV presenter Svetlana Savitskaya has died in Paris. The 34-year-old model was fatally struck by a car in a pedestrian zone. This was reported by the Russian publication StarHit, citing a friend of the deceased.

According to journalists, Savitskaya was killed by a vehicle in the French capital that was attempting to avoid a head-on collision.

"Two cars were heading towards each other. One swerved sharply and hit a pedestrian. It was our Sveta. Her mother asks everyone who loved her to pray for the peaceful repose of her soul for 40 days," said the acquaintance of the Russian woman to the publication.

Model's relatives announced on her personal blog that Savitskaya will be buried at Troekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow on Monday, December 23.
