The U.S. is no longer accepting applications for the U4U program, leaving Ukrainian refugees without support.

The United States has suspended the United for Ukraine (U4U) program, which supports Ukrainians who are fleeing from war. This information comes from the website of the American Citizenship and Immigration Services.

"In accordance with the executive order dated January 20, 2025, 'Securing Our Borders,' USCIS is halting the acceptance of Form I-134A, the online request for support, and financial support declarations until we review all conditional release procedures in accordance with this order," the U4U program page stated.

The publication "Voice of America" explained that the mentioned order was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump. He instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security to revise asylum programs for foreigners entering the country and to halt programs that contradict Washington's policy.

The Council of Ukrainian Christian Churches in Washington State has appealed for the continuation of programs for Ukrainian refugees, particularly U4U and TPS. They argued that these programs allow Ukrainian citizens to legally reside in the U.S. while the Russian Armed Forces commit genocide in their homeland.

As of March 2023, it is reported that over 118,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the U.S. through the U4U program. Additionally, about 25,000 Ukrainians entered the country through the land border with Mexico at the beginning of the full-scale war.

Recall that on January 27, American journalist Tucker Carlson stated that the Joe Biden administration attempted to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, "this is madness."

President Vladimir Zelensky discussed what security guarantees would be suitable for Ukraine. He explained the differences in the support received by Ukraine and Israel.
