The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that during meetings in Brussels, the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine was discussed. The head of state stated this at a press conference following the negotiations, as reported by "European Truth".
According to Zelensky, consultations on this matter are ongoing, with assistance in organizing them provided by French President Emmanuel Macron.
"We discussed Emmanuel's long-standing idea. We support the notion of strengthening Ukraine," the head of state declared.
Zelensky emphasized that there are initial encouraging results.
"Emmanuel has been in contact with some leaders regarding this. We are in the process, but I see positive responses from certain leaders," the president explained.
However, the Ukrainian leader did not disclose specific details about the mission's format, noting that this is a matter that requires particular caution.
"The details are important, and we are discussing these specifics," Zelensky concluded.
Recall that in a recent interview with the French press, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine cannot reclaim the territories occupied by Russia through military means.
On December 17, newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine needs to reach an agreement to bring an end to Russia's full-scale invasion.
