Emergency power outages have been implemented in five regions of Ukraine. This was reported by NEC "Ukrenergo".
The reason for these restrictions is the aftermath of Russian attacks on energy facilities.
"Initially, industrial consumers are being disconnected. Restrictions for residential consumers are applied only in specific cases," the company stated.
Ukrenergo noted that the situation in the energy system may change and urged subscribers to monitor updates on the pages of their regional energy providers and to reduce electricity consumption if possible.
The restrictions are in effect in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kirovohrad regions, as reported by the regional energy companies.
It is worth mentioning that power consumption restrictions in Ukraine were recently introduced due to damage to energy facilities as a result of enemy attacks. Meanwhile, Russia continues its attempts to destroy the Ukrainian energy system. For instance, in Odesa on February 19, over 250,000 people were left without electricity and heating due to Russian shelling.
