During the past week, Russian forces have been unable to achieve any success on the battlefield in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region. They have switched to a "kamikaze" mode and lost a significant number of assault groups and equipment, reported in a national marathon broadcast by the commander of the "Achilles" battalion of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Yuri Fedorenko.
“Overall, the situation in Kupiansk is, let's say, quite tense. The enemy has not fulfilled the task assigned to them before November 1, which was to reach Kupiansk-Uzlovoy and left-bank Kupiansk. As a result, they have actively forced their troops into 'kamikaze' mode. What does this mean? They must achieve results on the battlefield at any cost. Forward goes the equipment, forward goes the manpower. Despite losses, they must complete the mission. Consequently, the enemy is pressing on all fronts, but over the past week, they have not achieved any significant successes on the battlefield,” said the commander.
According to him, the Russians have notably failed to improve their tactical position in the Kruhlyakivka area.
“Enemy structural units are located in this settlement, but they have not managed to establish a permanent defensive line or a stable foothold. Currently, the enemy is in temporary shelters and suffers numerous losses. In some sections, imagine, the enemy has to advance on foot for up to 12 kilometers because the use of any other equipment is impossible due to the resistance of the Defense Forces. This is the work of our artillery, unmanned systems, and anti-tank means. Out of ten infantrymen who embark on this march, only three reach the front line, and only one takes up a position. The rest drop out and are eliminated by the Defense Forces,” Fedorenko explained.
In the Koliesnykivka area, defenders managed to push the enemy out of several positions and secure themselves reliably there. In left-bank Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Uzlovoy, the enemy is attempting to conduct combined assaults, but these territories are fully under the control of the Defense Forces.
“In the Dvurichna area, there was a significant incident when enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups were detected on the right bank. Using inflatable boats and rafts, they are trying to cross, taking advantage of poor weather conditions. I will tell you quite frankly that we cannot say the enemy has resorted to crossing the Oskil River. This would imply the transfer of enemy forces and means, occupation of a foothold on the right bank, and establishment of necessary crossings to ensure logistics for their troops, supply of manpower, transfer of equipment, and everything needed to escalate their efforts and advance. As of today, none of this is present. Only sabotage and reconnaissance groups are operating, there is a certain presence on the right bank, but the Defense Forces are well-informed about this,” Fedorenko characterized the situation.
