Within a 24-hour period, rescuers responded to 28 emergency calls, 16 of which were for fire extinguishing, writes the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
Three of the fires, as clarified by the State Emergency Service, were caused by Russian shelling. The blazes occurred in the Kupiansk, Kharkiv, and Izium districts.
“During the day, the enemy struck the border village of Khatne in the Kupiansk district. As a result of a drone strike, a fire broke out in the private housing sector. A house burned over an area of 120 square meters. Rescuers, working under the threat of repeated shelling, quickly extinguished the fire. There were no casualties or injuries. Ten rescuers and three units of equipment, including a medical team from the State Emergency Service, were involved in addressing the aftermath of the enemy attack,” the rescuers reported.
Another fire due to shelling occurred in Derhachi, where a house, outbuilding, and vehicle were on fire. There were no injuries.
“At night, in the village of Vysneve in the Izium district, a summer kitchen burned over an area of 32 square meters,” the State Emergency Service added.
