In Kharkiv, a man was sentenced for committing double murder, driven by a desire for revenge.

The investigation revealed that on September 18, 2023, a 44-year-old man with a criminal background committed a double homicide in Kharkiv.

According to data from the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was at a house on Kamianets-Podilskyi Street, where he was drinking alcohol with acquaintances. During the "party," a quarrel broke out.

“The accused grabbed a wooden stick and began to beat one of his opponents on the head and torso. The victim tried to hide in another room on the bed, but the assailant dragged him by the legs to the floor, continuing to hit him with his fists and kitchenware, after which he picked up a knife and inflicted at least seven blows to the torso of his victim. Wanting to 'settle scores' with all the offenders, the murderer went to another room where the homeowner was located and began to beat the man first with the stick and then with the knife. Not stopping there, he returned to the room where the first victim was and stabbed him in the right eye with the knife,” the law enforcement officials discovered.

It was established that both victims were just over 40 years old and died at the scene from their injuries.

In court, the suspect confessed to the crime. He was found guilty of intentional murder of two individuals (part 1, section 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man was sentenced to life imprisonment.
