The incident occurred in Kharkiv – a resident of the Osnovyansky district contacted the police to report a theft.
As clarified by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, the man stated that personal belongings had been stolen from his car.
“During the operational activities, the police identified the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 43-year-old man from Kharkiv with a previous criminal record,” the officers reported.
It was revealed that he noticed a parked car with a slightly open window. This allowed him to steal a phone, which he soon sold for six thousand hryvnias.
“Investigators informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the law enforcement officials added.
