A man who praised the Russian Federation and Putin has been arrested and will be tried, reported the head of the investigative department of the National Police of Kharkiv region, Sergey Bolvinov.

“It’s a pity that we, the residents of Kharkiv, cannot yet vote for Putin,” wrote a local man from Aerospace Avenue in his posts and comments on social media. He also reported on the results of Russian army strikes on targets in Kharkiv to accounts linked to Russian mobile operators. Additionally, he shared information about the locations of Ukrainian Defense Forces units,” Bolvinov explained.

Police investigators, along with SBU counterintelligence, arrived at the traitor's home for a search. They found two smartphones, two computer towers, and hard drives. They discovered accounts from which he praised the Russian army, supported the occupation of Ukrainian cities, and called for backing the aggressor.

“My Kharkiv is a Russian city and it will be part of Russia,” the man wrote.

The 51-year-old man has been informed of the suspicion regarding the production and distribution of materials that contain justifications or denials of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (part 2 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), reported the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.

The maximum penalty is up to eight years in prison.
