Pause in Kharkiv attacks by KABs: Synehubov discusses the enemy's new tactics.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Synegubov provided details about the nighttime drone attack on Kharkiv on January 28 and linked the increased activity of "Shaheds" and "Lightnings" to the limited resources of the Russian Federation.

“Kharkiv was attacked at night by 'Shaheds'. We observed, as we did the previous night and actually throughout the last month, that there was an aerial battle in the airspace. There were 'strikes' in two districts: the Kyiv and Novobavarsky districts. There are damages to civilian infrastructure, a civilian enterprise, and private residential buildings. Two people were injured,” noted Synegubov.

Commenting on the sharp increase in Russian drones over Kharkiv region, the head of the Regional State Administration reminded that drones have replaced the previous threat — guided aerial bombs (KABs).

“Firstly, we see that the enemy has limited resources. This is true. And, so to speak, the operation in Kursk contributes to this. The enemy is using its main combat resources in that direction, in the Pokrovsk direction of Donetsk region. The pause with guided aerial bombs that we are experiencing is due to these operations, where our Armed Forces are holding back the enemy and fighting for every meter of our territory. Secondly, the enemy does not leave us alone; it is forced to use other methods and tactics. And it has indeed switched to 'Shaheds'. For the past month, we have observed such activity. And 'Lightnings': 'Lightning-1', 'Lightning-2' — they are becoming more modified,” shared Synegubov.

He reported that last Saturday, the issue of protecting the skies of Kharkiv region from new drone challenges was discussed at a meeting with the Office of the President of Ukraine.
