The accused is a 60-year-old woman from Kharkiv who, according to investigative data, is a supporter of the "Russian world." She is currently awaiting trial.
The woman has repeatedly expressed her views in pro-Russian Telegram channels, as clarified by the prosecutor's office. In her comments, she supported Russia's position and justified the actions of the occupiers.
“The accused claimed that ‘Kharkiv is a Russian city’ and noted that the population of Ukraine should supposedly pray for the President of Russia. She insisted that the representatives of the armed forces of the aggressor state target only ‘military objects’ and made derogatory remarks about Ukrainian patriots,” law enforcement officials explained.
The unlawful nature of her statements was confirmed through a judicial linguistic (semantic-textual) examination. The woman is currently in a pre-trial detention center and will be tried in the Chervonozavodsky District Court of Kharkiv, and if her guilt is proven, she faces up to five years in prison, the prosecutor's office added.
