Over the course of a day, 17 fires broke out in the Kharkiv region, five of which were caused by Russian shelling, wrote the regional emergency service in Kharkiv.
One of the fires occurred the day before at 20:49 on Jubilee Avenue in the Saltivskyi district.
“In the basement, clothing was burning on a body, along with a wooden bench covering an area of 3 square meters. Firefighters discovered a body in the fire's center. The cause of the fire is under investigation,” the emergency service noted.
Rescue workers also reported on the results of shelling in the Kupiansk area.
“Throughout the day, enemy aviation targeted the private sector in Kupiansk. As a result of the shelling, a residential house was destroyed, leading to the ignition of wooden structures. The area of the fire was 10 square meters. Nearby residential houses were also damaged. Rescuers retrieved the body of a deceased man born in 1965 from the rubble. At another location, a utility building burned over an area of 50 square meters. There were no casualties. The fire was quickly extinguished,” the rescuers clarified.
Additionally, the day before, firefighters inspected the site of a “strike” in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. There, a business and a vehicle were damaged due to the impact, but there were no casualties.
