Updated at 11:35. A 15-year-old boy, who had been missing since the "strike" on the nine-story building, has been found under the debris.
“Right now, emergency services are working to free the body of the 15-year-old boy. He lived on the first floor with his grandparents. At the time of the incident, they were in another room, while he was in the area where all six floors collapsed. Rescuers can visually see the body, but there are very heavy slabs on top of it. They are currently determining how to extricate him without causing further damage,” said Dmitry Chubenko, spokesperson for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, during a national marathon broadcast.
He noted that the child shows no signs of life, but biological death can only be confirmed once he is removed from the ruins.
Updated at 10:31. The emergency services believe that it will not be possible to retrieve the 15-year-old boy alive from the rubble.
“There is information that a 15-year-old boy is under the debris. Unfortunately, due to the extent of the destruction, he has likely already perished. Therefore, rescuers are working to dismantle the rubble and clear away the debris from the slabs and ceilings to reach the deceased. We will continue working until we have completely cleared the perimeter of the destroyed section of the building,” said Evgeny Vasilenko, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, during a national marathon broadcast.
08:00. “An operational headquarters of the National Police has been established near the impact site. As of 07:15, 58 residents of the building have reported damage to their property to the police. There is also a report of a missing 15-year-old child. By order of the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, police will guard the damaged buildings until utility services have secured all broken windows and doors,” the police added.
The police also clarified that the enemy launched three FAB-500 bombs from the Belgorod region. As a result of the attack, four multi-story buildings and 12 vehicles were damaged.
Recall that late in the evening on October 30, a Russian KAB struck a nine-story building in the Saltivskyi district. A 12-year-old child died, and another 34 people were injured. There may still be people trapped under the rubble. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov, there is a threat of structural collapse of the building.
