During the national marathon, Mayor Igor Terekhov reported on the situation at the strike site in Kharkiv and provided updates on the condition of those injured by the shelling.
The mayor clarified that the enemy targeted the city with a "Shahed" drone overnight, hitting the Novobavarsky district.
“A very serious fire broke out, covering an area of 1,500 square meters. Emergency services and our municipal workers are still operating there due to the severity of the fire, which affected furniture warehouses. Additionally, a carpentry workshop was destroyed. The situation was further complicated by the fact that a gas pipeline runs through the area, which was also damaged, leading to such a large-scale fire. We expect full containment of the fire in another 2-3 hours,” the mayor projected.
According to him, two workshops and a warehouse were completely destroyed.
“Unfortunately, there are two injured individuals. These are people who live approximately 500 meters from the facility—a 59-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl. They experienced an acute stress reaction, and an ambulance was called. They received medical assistance and are currently in satisfactory condition at home,” Terekhov specified.
