Murder in Kharkiv region: a man with a criminal history is suspected.

Law enforcement officials have apprehended a resident of the Balakliia community, who, according to the investigation, killed his partner.

The woman's body was discovered on February 19. During the examination of the victim, authorities found signs of violent death, reported the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.

The authorities suspect the victim's partner in the woman's murder, who already had a criminal record and was released from prison last summer.

“During a quarrel, the 48-year-old man stabbed the woman several times in the torso. The 66-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene,” the police determined.

The man has been detained. He has been notified of suspicion under part 1 of article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code. If found guilty, he faces a prison sentence of 7 to 15 years.
