Kharkiv is under attack by drones. Residents are hearing the sounds of air defense systems. The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, reported that there have been hits in the city.
Updated at 01:30. Terekhov, at the site of one of the drone strikes in the city center, provided details about the night attack by "shaheds." Four drones struck the city.
“In the central part of Kharkiv, on Sumskaya Street, a 'shahed' hit the roadway. Fortunately, no one was injured here. Windows in a multi-story residential building were shattered. Additionally, the transportation network was also affected, particularly the contact network. Our municipal services will be working to ensure that we can launch the trolleybus routes in the morning. We will also be closing off the areas because it is very important for us to maintain heat in the homes that are located here,” the mayor of Kharkiv said.
According to him, two more 'shaheds' struck a café in the Kyiv district. The most severe consequences were reported at the site of the strike on the multi-story building.
“There was a very severe impact. It appears to have hit an apartment on the second floor. Emergency services are currently on site. I am also heading there now,” Terekhov noted.
