A thief snatched a phone in broad daylight and fled – police shared details on their search for the culprit.

Regarding the theft that occurred the day before in the Kholodnohirskiy district, authorities reported from the regional patrol police in Kharkiv Oblast.

The notification about the theft was received by law enforcement on February 26 at around 2:00 PM. A woman stated that on Poltavsky Shlyakh Street, an unknown individual snatched her smartphone and fled.

“The police transmitted the information over the radio and initiated a search. While patrolling the adjacent area on Rastorguyevsky Lane, the officers noticed a man matching the description and stopped him for verification. The police found a phone in the possession of the individual, which was later identified by the victim,” the officers reported.

For further investigation, the patrol called in an investigative operational group, the police added.
