The explosions heard by Kharkiv residents around 8 PM on December 18 were due to enemy strikes in the region, reported Dmitry Chubenko, the spokesperson for the regional prosecutor's office, during a national marathon broadcast.

“Very often, the Russians carry out shelling specifically targeting the city of Kharkiv. This is why explosions are frequently heard within the city. The Russians use multiple rocket launchers, drones, and missiles for these attacks,” Chubenko stated.

He reminded that in the morning of December 18, the Russian military struck a non-operational shopping center in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv using the UAV 'Molniya-1.'

“This is essentially an FPV-type aircraft, which can cover about 30 kilometers from the launch point. It is not very powerful, carrying between 1 to 5-7 kilograms of explosives, depending on what is installed,” the spokesperson for the regional prosecutor's office explained.
